Ballet
Is the foundation of all other dance genres, and is critical to a dancer's progress. Training in classical ballet is essentially based on Vaganova technique. The class will consist of barre work, across the floor and center.
Focus: strength and balance, technique and body alignment, as well as grace and carriage.
Acro/Tumbling
Using controlled moves such as limbers, handstands, walkovers, cartwheels,
round-offs, etc.
Focus: gymnastic passes and flexibility moves.
Jazz
A collaboration of jazz technique and versatile styles of dance.
Focus: concentrating on strength, stretches for flexibility, progressions across the floor, and musicality.
Hip Hop
Full of energetic choreography based on musicality .
Focus: improving the ability to hear and use the music adequately.
Tap
Energetic, rhythmic tapping! A form of dance that creates rhythm and sounds using different parts of the feet and tap shoes. Class includes warm up, across the floor, combinations, and understanding the history of tap.
Focus: musicality and coordination.
Contemporary
A form of dance that connects modern, jazz, and ballet. The goal is to express feeling and tell a story.
Focus: stage presence and strengthening technique.
